Imogen & Ralph – Family and Pet Photography East Anglia

They say “never work with children or animals”, well that’s a bit difficult when you’re a photographer as there are always children or animals involved in your business.  It is a myth really though as I worked with both today and they were fabulous!  Imogen (that’s the little person!) and Ralph were a pleasure from start to finish and we got some great shots.  Here are my sneak peek selection – comment, share & enjoy

Education and Fun! – Photography Training

The key to delivering the best service to my customers is keeping up with current trends and new techniques.  It is also important to hone your present skills to make the customer experience even more enjoyable.  Last week was my turn to keep up, educate and hone my skills with the master photographer John Denton at his studio in Bishop Burton near Beverley with some like-minded souls.  Having arrived on the Wednesday afternoon, I settled in to my hotel, the Beverley Arms and met up with John and his lovely wife Liz that evening for a drink at a rustic old pub affectionately known as Nellies which was lit by gaslight!  Thursday saw a full day of photography with the help and assistance of John in various locations both inside and outside of the studio.  Thursday evening saw a lovely dinner at a local Thai restaurant with John, Liz and a fellow photographer from the day.  Friday saw another full day of photography, using a different model, with more and more techniques, skills and experience being passed on selflessly by John to all of us.  I thoroughly enjoyed my time at John’s studio and gained a great deal of knowledge, further education and skills from John’s teachings.  I have posted below some of my favourite images from my visit with thanks to Devon, Kerry and of course, John Denton.  Comment, share & enjoy!!

Jessica’s 1st Session – Cherubs Photographer Norfolk

It was Jessica’s turn to come for her first Cherubs session yesterday and what an absolute delight it was! Jessica was a dream to photograph and we had fun using some of her toys and different outfits. Jessica was more than happy to be posed and here’s a sneak peek for Mum & Dad to see before their personal viewing in a week or two. Comment, share & enjoy!

Paying Homage to the 60’s and David Bailey – Studio Photography East Anglia

I have spoilt myself recently by indulging in some personal photography and projects I’ve been meaning to start.  What with spending the day on the North Norfolk coast to photograph the 40’s Weekend, I’ve now had a great shoot at my studio in Wymondham paying homage to the 60’s and, in particular, David Bailey.  It was great to be able to humbly re-create some of David’s iconic images and try a few different ones too.  Many thanks to the wonderful Jade Priestley for helping me achieve this.  Here are a few of my favourites from the shoot – comment, share & enjoy!!

Something for Me – Event Photography Norfolk

I don’t get to do photography for me very often these days so when an opportunity to spend the day with fellow photographers taking images for myself and future possible competitions came up, I jumped at the chance. The 40’s Weekend hosted by the North Norfolk Railway is a great place to get nostalgic images and this is my second year of enjoying this event,  – here’s my sneak peek I’ve already edited from yesterday, all taken on the Olympus EM-1 with 45-200 and 12-35 lenses and the last image is how I felt after the day, but still thoroughly enjoyed myself – comment, share & enjoy.

An Elegant Affair – Charlotte & Ali – Wedding Photography Suffolk

Well the weather held beautifully for Ali & Charlotte’s fantastic wedding day yesterday and a great time was had by all. With a stunning bride and groom, unusual transport and superb venue in the form of Thornham Hall and Estate in Suffolk, things could only go accordingly to plan.  The beautiful setting made for an unforgettable day for Charlotte & Ali.   Here’s the sneak peek for you to comment, share & enjoy!!

Evie’s First Session – Cherubs Baby Photography

There’s something about a baby’s smile which can melt the hardest of hearts. Baby Evie was no different. Evie was an absolute star from the moment she arrived in the studio. When she wasn’t smiling she was mesmerized by her surroundings and taking it all in.  Evie’s first Cherubs session went brilliantly.  I’m looking forward to presenting Evie’s images to Mum and Dad very soon at a private viewing at my studio, and booking Evie’s second Cherubs session when she is able to sit unaided. Capturing those precious memories is such a lovely part of the job I’m honoured to be able to do. Here’s a sneak peek from our session.  Comment, share & enjoy!

A 4×4 Adventure – Ali & Charlotte’s Pre-Shoot – Wedding Photography Norfolk

As you already know, I like to meet up with my wonderful couples before the big day for a pre-shoot which can be made into a signature board for their guests to sign on the day as a momento.  It’s also nice to get a practice in before the main event.  Ali & Charlotte’s pre-shoot was a little different shall we say!  I met them in a nearby pub car park where we all piled into Ali’s 4×4 truck and off we went.  They were keen to have their images taken in a nearby woodland area.  Only problem it was accessible only by driving through fields!  Different as I said!  All good fun though and definitely a first for me!

Once we arrived at the location, Ali made sure all the stinging nettles were pushed down so we could actually get into the woodland!  Once in there, it was obvious why they wanted their shoot there.  It was peaceful, green and beautiful.  The only person without the correct footwear was me but it didn’t make any difference!  Here’s a sneak peek of the shoot for you to enjoy – comment and share
